OUR MISSION STATEMENT
OUR VISION “What does the Lord require of you
but to do justice,
We are called to love one another as Christ has loved us and to be a community —a true community through which the world will recognize Christ. As such, we care for one another and we offer opportunities to grow and learn and ways to serve others. Embodying true community isn’t just about us! It means reaching out to include others and encouraging the growth of a diverse community in which all are welcomed and cared for. We seek to provide a rich fellowship and sense of community for people of all ages and walks of life. Study and fellowship groups offer opportunities to ask honest questions, share opinions and discover ways to deal with life's difficult issues and to grow in faith. They also deepen relationships and widen our circles of concern. And sometimes we just have fun together!
Deep Christian Spirituality Christian spirituality is a way of life that relates who and what we are to God as revealed in Jesus Christ and as experienced through the Holy Spirit. (~Richard Hamm) At Forest Hill we encourage one another in the spiritual practices through which we open ourselves to being shaped by God. These practices include prayer, Bible study, worship, stewardship, service, study of the church's tradition and hospitality to strangers. Our spiritual formation opportunities range from teaching children to love Jesus to helping adults live Christ-like lives.
A passion for justice As followers of Jesus, we are committed to being as passionate about justice as he was. We believe that reaching out to others is essential to our faith and our identity as Christians. And we know that we have been blessed in order to be a blessing.
